Sandy Lane +

Canon Powershot D10

Description

Taken on the property next door to Sandy Lane. Just like the clear colours and the fact it's a shot of Sandy Lane not of the typical beach chairs and hotel!

View from Harrismith window +

Canon Powershot D10

Description

Inspired by an awesome image taken by Lindsay Farmer

Taken through one of the windows out of the ruined 'Harry Smith' house. A dream property location if anyone had the money to resurrect it. Amazing views.

Bottom Bay +

Canon Powershot D10

Description

A shot from the cliffs at Bottom Bay, to me, the most beautiful spot in Barbados. The colours of the sea are always just breathtaking here.

If making the trip to Bottom Bay, don't forget to do the 10 minute walk south to 'Harry Smiths', the ruined plantation house visible from the cliffs.

I love the way the sky is blue above the palm trees yet golden below. Taken at Harbour Lights (or Lites in the local vernacular), Carlisle Bay.

Hawksbill turtle at Six Mens fish market +

Canon Powershot D10

Description

Six Mens is a local fish market just up from Port St Charles marina. While stopping here to drop off some fish the turtles surrounded the boat. While you can swim any day of the week with tame turtles at Paynes Bay, the ones at Six Mens are significantly larger - presumably fed by the fishing boats who come in and throw the remains/guts of their catch overboard.

As such, I would recommend keeping your fingers and toes safe, they seemed significantly snappier than the ones down the coast!
